We’re opening up a STORE!

I am so OVER THE MOON excited to announce something that I’ve dreamt about since I was just a little girl. No, seriously. If you have known me long enough you have known that all I have ever wanted in my life was to be able to call a store mine. 11 YEARS of working retail for other amazing business owners and gathering all the tools and knowledge I can to successfully launch my own boutique and… I’m finally here. I can’t believe I’m about to say this: Please welcome to the historic heart of Newport and Washington Square neighborhood, LITTLE CHATEAU!!! I always knew it would happen someday, but my heart beams knowing that the entire concept of Little Chateau came out of COVID-19 and a really sad time in my life watching my dad battle an illness I never thought would happen. I was trapped in my apartment on Young Street in Newport in 2020, quarantining away from my family to avoid getting my dad or anyone sick, when everything was completely shut down and all I wanted to do with my days to pass time was to create. Which is exactly what I did. I wanted to create something that was the biggest reflection of me and what better reflection than photographing my apartment and all the things that make me, well ME.

I blinked my eyes and then you all helped me raise thousands of dollars for the Rhode Island Hospital Cancer unit through the tie dye loungewear I created where I donated all of the profits after marketing on the Little Chateau Instagram (to everyone who supported and is reading this, thank you so much). I blinked my eyes again and then we were donating hundreds of dollars in grocery gift cards to the Star Kids Foundation families who were in need of some extra help on the island. I blinked my eyes again and I bought a house. I blinked my eyes and then I decided to pursue Little Chateau full time to design homes, vacation rentals and Airbnb my home. And now, I’m HERE. A store. But it didn’t come easy. I poured everything into Little Chateau while also working overtime at my previous job and picking up any babysitting gig I could get just so that I could comfortably be able to close the door at my past job and open the door and step out onto my own platform.

The best part about opening up this store is I don’t have to do it alone. Instead I will be side by side with no one other than my absolute best friend and now my BUSINESS PARTNER— the one and only, Jackie Harrington, Cosmo Mama and who I’m so lucky to call, my mom. The apple didn’t fall too far from the tree because it just so happened that this little dream of mine has been my mom’s as well since she was a little girl. Go figure. We’ve just always understood each other— and honestly, we have more fun together than any other two people around. To be honest, sometimes we forget we’re mom and daughter— we’re just the best of friends. I can’t wait to spend even more time together working on our passion project for life! You can usually find us in Newport at least once a week having cosmos somewhere — if you ever see us, pull up a chair.

It’s always been about the right place at the right time type of situation and this space in this time just felt perfect. We will be located at 13 Touro Street, right next to Banana Republic overlooking the beautiful square (And lucky enough the Washington Square Christmas tree will stand tall right outside our doors, which is a magic moment I can’t stop thinking about). Little Chateau will have elevated home decor, gifts, accessories and a carefully curated collection of apparel. And of course, an exclusive line of Little Chateau products. There will be something for everyone— we promise. 

I really do feel that if you want something hard enough, it will happen. I also feel that some of the best things in life will come after pain. Sometimes a lot of pain. And if you stay true to who you are and persevere through that pain, the struggles, and the unfair, inevitable moments manufactured by this unpredictable life, you will come out stronger than you ever thought you could be. This is me telling you to go after what you want. Even if that means working 3 jobs so that you can eventually turn your side hustle into THE HUSTLE. Here’s to being resilient and pursuing our wildest dreams. LITTLE CHATEAU— WELCOME TO NEWPORT. See you all at 13 Touro.
